Tori Morancay ***

Despite her diminutive demeanour, Tori Morancay certainly packs a punch.

She takes to the stage and over the course of the next three-quarters of an hour, lays bare aspects of her life. Unflinchingly.

Morancay is not a native New Yorker, but now lives and works there, performing stand-up across the city. Born and raised in France, we are granted insight into her world - a curious juxtaposition of French and New Yorker.

She attended circus school as a child, was married way too young, but is now successfully navigating life as a French immigrant in the USA.

Much of her routine revolves around dating and sex. She explains her fetish for overweight men. Oral sex, Epstein, abortion, orgies and much, much, more come under her sardonic scrutiny.

In Le French c’est Freak, Morancay combines stand-up, storytelling, and physical comedy, self-deprecatingly examining her series of questionable life choices.

Her presence oozes vulnerability, while delighting in the audience’s discomfort.

Her Edinburgh Fringe debut promises much for the future.
